Early learning songs seem to be one of my greatest joys as a teacher!! So here is another song that you should totally be using in your classroom!! I’m a Little Teapot is a great song for helping students learn to follow directions but also works on rhyming skills.
Rhyming skills are great because they help students develop some of the foundational learning blocks needed for reading.
Are you familiar with I’m a Little Teapot??
If not that’s okay the song lyrics are short and easy to memorize.

The actions are just as simple.
I’m a little teapot
Short and stout.
MAKE A CIRCLE WITH YOUR ARMS IN FRONT OF YOUR BELLY
Here is my handle,
BEND YOUR ARM AND PLACE ON HIP
Here is my spout.
MAKE AN EGYPTIAN DANCE HAND WITH OTHER ARM
When I get all steamed up
THROW ARMS UP IN THE AIR
Hear me shout:
CUP HANDS AROUND SIDES OF MOUTH
Tip me over
And pour me out!
BEND TO THE SIDE
