Whether you are in the classroom or at home, birthdays are a huge part of the teaching year!! Most students absolutely love to be celebrated and remembered on their birthdays. So, let’s talk about Happy Birthday Certificates and how you can use them in your classroom or home!!
Birthday celebrations don’t have to take away from the fun of the classroom and the learning that is occurring but there are still ways to make this birthday day special.
I feel like the greatest gift that a teacher can give their students is to let them know just how special and loved that student is.
So to make my student’s day special in class, I give each student a birthday certificate (you can find for free in our FREEBIES library), a birthday bag with some fun surprises, and decorate their desk and chair!!
To decorate my student’s desk for the day I place a fun birthday chair cover, and a fun foil balloon weight from the Dollar Tree to put on my student’s desk!!

Without spending a ton of money you can make some fun birthday bags with supplies that your student can use in class. Usually in my birthday bags, I place:
- a balloon
- a fun birthday pencil
- an eraser
- some candy (lollipop tootsie rolls and usually a mini chocolate bar)
- a personalized card (usually blank ones I find at the Dollar Tree) sharing exactly what I love about that student
