It seems like as soon as school is back in session that the decorations for Thanksgiving and Halloween seem to roll out in full force. When you can’t beat ’em join ’em. So with Halloween only 2 months and a bit away we decided to provide a fun Halloween game that you can use for classroom parties!! So welcome, Halloween Themed Tic Tac Toe.
This Halloween Tic Tac Toe game is just a good ol’ game of xs and os.
In case, you need a reminder of how to play the game here are the rules:
- You are the jack o lantern, your friend is the ghost
- The first player to get 3 of his/ her game players in a row (up, down, across, or diagonally) is the winner.
- A cat’s eye happens when all 9 squares are covered but no one has won
Included in this fun and cute Halloween Themed Tic Tac Toe set are 5 boards and 5 sets of game pieces.
Rather than x’s and o’s, you will find some cute jack-o-lanterns and ghosts that are just the right amount of cute and spooky.
Now you might be wondering exactly how this Halloween Theme tic tac toe can be pulled into your math class or math curriculum.
The explanation is rather simple. Tic Tac Toe is a game based on patterns, symmetry, and topology.
Using mathematical terms, to win you need:
A pattern of threes.
Lines of symmetry using either straight forms across, down, or diagonal.
And then topology where the pattern can continue no matter which way you turn the game board.
So now that we got the technical lingo out of the way. Are you ready to play some Halloween Theme Tic Tac Toe??
