Are you ready for a new Father-Son activity idea?? Check out our Father-Son Batting Cage Date You’ll Be Proud Of!!
We thought it was time to take a break from all the Don’t Eat Pete Game posts!!
And, get back to some hardcore bonding time that is so needed between dads and sons.
With Spring hopefully teasing us to come quickly within the next few months!!
We thought the best father-son activity to share with you would be the Father-Son Batting Cage Date You’ll Be proud of!!
We know a not so little man that adores Baseball.
He lives, eats, sleeps, breathes it!!
And still then he doesn’t get enough of it!!
He is constantly asking to spend time at the batting cages!!
So rather than come up with an activity that he wouldn’t be as psyched about we thought it was high time to break out the bats and head on over there!!
Now, before you just write this idea off because it still might be in the middle of winter where you are!! Please don’t!!
Just wait!! Because we just recently discovered that there are indoor batting cages in our area so this might be an option you can check out where you are!!
To inspire us for this date, we went back to the old school song of Take Me Out to the Ball Game!!
If you are not familiar with the lyrics they go:
“Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack,
I don’t care if I never get back,
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don’t win it’s a shame.
For it’s one, two, three strikes, you’re out,
At the old ball game.”
This song brings back so many pleasant memories of watching baseball games from the past!! In eating peanuts, cracker jack and hot dogs!!
Since this song inspired this father son activity we decided to base our treat off of!!
Give us a drumroll please…
Check out this Perfect Copycat Cracker Jack Recipe from cincyshopper.com
This recipe truly brought me back to my childhood days!! Now a peanut allergy runs in our house so we substitute our Cracker Jack with Salted Almonds or Salted Cashews. And it is absolutely heavenly!!
So either you can make this recipe ahead of time or include it as part of your time together!!
Then you can grab a hotdog, peanuts (other nuts or a salty snack) with Cracker Jacks and head off to the batting cages!!
Usually we encourage some silly fun with our activities but after much thought we encourage safety for the batting cages!!
Sometimes just brushing up on our skills allows for great heart to heart conversations and we are stoked because we know this activity can truly do this!!
So grab some ingredients, nuts and hotdogs and enjoy your baseball treats as you brush up on your skills!!
Let us know other fun snacks that you have around baseball in the comments below!!
ps. just in case you are new around here keep reading!! we just wanted to explain what exactly you will find in our printable package!! Along with the invite and recipes, you will find in the pack, you will also notice that there is a sheet of “stickers” to cut out and use for scrapbooking or journaling!! You will also find a journal page to write down the fun memories that you have together to add to your journals!!
